Why this title... ? You will undertstand when you'll see the condition of the car. It is the car of a man whi just recently found about detailing and the results it can bring even to a sad car like this one.

So, at arrival the car looked like this.

Which closer, looks like this :

The wash was the usual, 2BM, CG Maxi Suds II, Meg's APC here and there, agitated with a detailing brush. The calying was done with a CG White Clay and ONR as lube. All this process revealed the paint defects that were masked by the dirt.

Defects as I said :

This was in a few pictures the state of the paint. As I said, the calying was made with CG and ONR, what amaised me was the small amount of contaminants that the clay picked up from the paint. That wasn't the case in the lower half of the doors.

After the lower half of the drivers door, the clay looked like this :

After the wash and claying process the condition of the car was something like this. On the tyres it already is the first of the four coats of CG NLTG.

Paint correction !

I was burning with curiosity to begin the parint correction.

On the oxidised hood, I used 106FA on a blue Berner pad in order to remove the oxid, the raw first layer. Afther that, i used FCP on a white LC pad, and finally 106FA again on a black Mirka pad.

After the compunding and finish stages :

After 2 coats of CG XXX :

I promissed the owner that i would fix the hood, he did nor belive me :)

The rest of the car was treated with FCP/white LC and 106FA/Black Mirka. Only in few places i used some wetsanding on order to remove some deeper scratches.

Also corrected the headlights and taillinghts.

I removed the trim form the roof, and cleaned under Megs APC and a detailing brush was used:

Back to the paint correction :

Before :

2 passes with the agressive combination removed a great amount of defects, I decided it was enough since it was not a "as new" project

The roof :

Thank you all.

I hope I can cover all your questions.

The hood was resprayed at somepoint, and yes it is a paint with no clearcoat. It was the same allover the car, but I don't know why the hood looked that bad.

The paint was really soft to work with and quite easy to correct.

What did you mean "it's not an 'as new' project"? That car looks brand new!

Incredible work!

Thank you, that is very nice to hear. What I ment to say, was that the owner did not choose the most complete service for this car. There were still things that could have been done to the car. No doubt the car looks good, in fact the owner, when he camed to pick up the car, passed along it, came into the garage, hoping to find his car there, and asked me "Where's my car ? " i sayed that his car was the one in the front of the garage, and he was just blown away. "I didn't even look at this one, it looked too good". It will be a nice memory to keep. :)
