Even thoe I am not so lucky to have lots of people in my country that love cars and understand correctly their needs, every now and then, comes an example like the one below which makes me think twice.

Bought only one week ago this S60 came to me for the "New Car Prep" package.

So, without any further talk, here is the state of the car on arrival :

It was very very cold here in Bucharest these last few days (-25 to -30C), and the day, the Volvo came, was the first one when the snow began to melt. That's the reason for the mud spray allover the car.

Anyway, 1rst job : Wheels.

For the wash I used the Meg's Marine series due to its potential of disolving more calcar than the regular CG Maxi Suds II i use normally. 2BM with hot water used for the wash. You can see the steam rising from the buckets.

Nothing interesting here, just a clean(er) car.

IMG_0499_zpsde1d1d23.jpg

Since who knows what wax the dealer or the factory used on the car, a powerfull degreaser was needed. MaFra Supermafrasol diluted 1/10.

Hey beauty ! :)

IMG_0501_zpsbb08f7ae.jpg

Since it is a new car and the marring that the clay could inflict could be an issue, i choose the Mild Clay from Meg's, left to "melt" in hot wather for 5 minutes before claying each panel. Is is a time consuming thing i know, but at least i ensured that minimum amount of marring was inflicted.

As i expected, a clean car.

Moved to the paint correction area.

Rupes BigFoot 21, Meg's 205 and a brand new Mirka finishing pad was the combination i choosed.

I saw a film about priming the pad with Kevin Brown, he insists on doing this using lots of product (not to weaste, but to work into the pad), he also explains why, it makes sense, and if you will try it you will see he is right.

Nice work, love the color!

I was in Bucharest on business for a few days last year, and I think the only clean cars I saw was through the windows of an italian sports car dealer on the way to the airport.. :(
