Nice work as always Alex.

The paint work wasn't to much to brag about.

What is special about the FQ400 compaired to a regular Evo?

Evo-Detailing

There are so many differences.

1. The power, the stock EVO has 280 HP, the FQ 400, as the name sugests has 400 (This particular one has 414 at the engine and 364 at the wheels)

2. Intake & Exhaust are made by HKS

3 It il lighter.

4 There were only 100 ever made

5 Something at the differentials that I don't know for sure

6 Some extra carbon elements (the roof diffuser and the front lip, and also the cover for the exhaust tip on the rear bumper)

7 Special Recaro seats in Alcantara.

8 Bigger turbo.

9 Bigger Brakes

And I appologise if I missed something.

Great detail on a great car. Keep 'em comin'

How's the road maintenance at winter in Romania? Do they use salt to prevent ice on the main roads?

Edit: spelling errors

Thanks guys !

About the road maintenance... In their oppinion the decision the took 2 years ago it is a better one, in some ways it is but concerning the cars lifetime it is a nightmare. 2 years ago the Transportation Ministry decided not to use salt and sand anymore, but to use some liquid which has salt in its composition and many other "poisons", which from the rust point of view it is much worse. It does melt ice and snow hell of a lot quicker that is for sure but to what costs in terms of cars rusting much faster.

I try as much as possible to wash my car after a drive in the snow but I am one of the few which understands the damage that could be done by that liquid mixture.

Sand is still present on the side of the road in "hot spots" aka where is most often needed.

About the polish I used for correction, I used Menz 203 an a white LC pad for correcting and 106FA am a red LC pad as finishing stage, as Bernhard pointed I did not have to use a more aggressive combo to get the job done.

Sweeet ride the FQ400, cant import those to Norway sadly, but it would have been way to pricy anyway..

Fastest Lancer evo ever made the 400.

FQ stands for Fucking Quick to, so, catchy name :D

Great detail..

ti was te same case with this one. but is there any regulation against driving a car with the steeringwheel on the right or is that just a personal preference ?

hmmmm, looks like he got the steeringwhele on the left side on that car?

Is it a aftermarket FQ or a factory deliverd?

Not sure about the regulations, but usually cars with steering on the right side is not easy to get registrated here, unless its a verry special car..

Skylines etc is no no`s here, unless they are 70`s models or the new R35

I understand now.

This was initialy a UKDM car, because the FQ was never produced in Japan, it is an invention of the British much like the RB Impreza's. The original car was absolutely destroyed, but all the mechanics was intact. we have bought the wrecked car in order to rebuild it. So what we did, we bought another EVO (the black shell that you see detailed by me) from the US and moved all the mechanics and electronics from the crashed one onto the new body. That's why this one has left hand drive. It is at least for my knowledge the only FQ 400 with left hand drive. Since the bodys are exactly the same (no modifications were made to the FQ compared to the regular EVO body wise) the swap was a bolt on.

Well this is a car to like ;)

Accually the worlds fastet 4-door saloon. 0-100 @ 3,5 sec. It also holds the record for most bhp pr ltr engine in a regular petrol production car.

But this isnt a original MR FQ-400 is it? Or has the owner done some changes to the look?

I had no curiosity in measuring that. I consider the EVO being "the cornering machine" and not so much a straight line one. Anyways since the drag racing seems to capture everybody the owner went to an event like that. On road tyres, on normal tarmac, with the full tank and being the first time he ever attended an event like that the best time was 11.77 (400 m). Quite fast but far from Fuckin' Quick i would say :)

About the looks, at the time I had worked on the car it still had the USDM rear bumper, the original one is fitted now to the car as it was not sprayed at the moment.

EDIT: I see :)

He's missing the shrunken carbon side mirrors and some other original MR FQ-400 exterior details.

Nice makeover too

It was Ralliart UK and one other company i don't remember the name of that tuned the EVO to make the FQ-400

Here is a complete spec list of the differences a FQ-400 has compared to the stock GSR EVO.

• Custom built Garrett GT Dual Ball bearing turbocharger

• Owen Developments custom manufactured cast stainless steel

exhaust manifold and exhaust elbow

• Omega forged pistons

• HKS forged con rods

• HKS 680cc injectors

• Zytec ITP116 high pressure fuel pump

• HKS 1.6mm steel head gasket

• Motec M800 OEM ECU

• HKS iridium spark plugs

• Jan Speed High Flow Sports Cat

• Alcon competition derived 240mm high clamp mode, heavy duty

clutch complete with Cera-metallic 6 paddle sprung centered drive

plate

• HKS High Strength Head and Big End Bolts

• Alcon Mono6 Brake Kit incorporating Monobloc 6 pot road caliper with

343mm curved vein Disc on a Aluminium mounting bell assembly with

Ferodo DS2500 brake pads

• Ralliart Aero Mirrors

• Carbon fibre front lip spoiler

• Carbon fibre "Sharks Tooth" rear vortex generator

• PIAA High Performance light and wiper upgrade

• Gloss black Team Dynamics lightweight alloy wheels

• Driver training course

In other words, air in and out, a Walbro 255l/hr fuel pump or anything related, more turbo boost, a ECU remap and your roughly have a FQ-400 if you ignore the weight differences and some other "minor" details :)

Sadly the original mirrors did not make it :(. I guess the owner will at some point order them in the UK but I guess that was not a priority. I seem to care better about the fact that this is a rare car than the owner....

Thank You for your appreciation.

Yeah, the MR FQ-400 is a piece of art and the best "family" car money can buy :D

When i was looking to buy a EVO, number 72/100 were for sale in England, sadly you can't get license plates on it here in Norway like truhaa mentioned above. And the price for a piece of license plates on that one here in Norway IF you were allowed to have plates on it would be ridiculously high :(
